How can I get people to my personal development forum?

Its new and I would like people to find it. MAIN SITE is under construction.

Here are some tips on how to get more people to your forum:

1. Start posting in other forums that receive traffic. People that post there will see your link and come to your site.

2. What makes your forum unique? Why would people want to come to your forum? Find ways to make people want to come.

3. Start a contest with prizes and make some publicity for this contest. People love contests, prizes.

4. Write articles for article directories. People who will read the articles will (some of them, not all) click on the link in your resource box and come to your forum.

5. Start reading some personal development blogs and start putting some comments. Give the writer some feedback. Try to help him/her and he/her will usually help you as well. You first have to give before you can receive.

6.Offer some kind of reward to people who refer other people to your forum. Maybe an affiliate contest. The prizes don’t really have to be all that big, it’s the word “prize” and being first that will make people want to be the best and help you.

7. Persevere. Bringing people to your forum is not going to happen fast. You have to be patient and keep doing the things that work. I think that if you start doing what I’ve told you and find other ways as well, you will start seeing results in about 3-4 months. If you can’t wait that long then then you could use google adwords to bring people faster to your site, but this means money. If you have it, start learning about adwords and do it.

I also had a look at your site and I’ll give you some feedback which I think will help you get visitors and keep them:

1. It’s great that you’ve put something on the first page of your site. If you don’t have a home page, people will click away.

2. The header of the home page looks kind of old and most people will click away from your site when they see it. Make it smaller and change the font and the colors so that it looks fresh and exciting. Also, see if you can find a better image, something that will make people curious to see what this forum is all about.

3. Do not write the page with bold. Change it. It looks old and almost no one will read it. Also, write small 5-6 rows paragraphs and then add a break. 4. I would recommend that you take that first google ad out, at least for a couple of months (2 months), because when you first came to your site, that’s the first or second thing you see and people will click away. If you really want to build a forum community you have to make some changes.
